The Indiana State Police are investigating an incident that occurred on Friday evening on I-65 where a car was hit by gunfire.  Troopers George and Huston responded to a local car dealership in Highland who had reported that one of their cars had been hit by gunfire while on I-65.   A nineteen-year old employee had picked up a 2018 Kia Soul in Carmel, IN and was transporting the car back to the Highland dealership.   The employee was north bound on I-65, south of the US 30 exit in the left lane when a silver car pulled alongside him.   The employee looked over at the driver, saw that the driver’s window was down, and made brief eye contact with the driver. He also saw two other occupants in the silver car.   The employee then heard “shots” being fired.    The employee described the driver as a male black wearing a scully cap.   The front seat passenger and backseat passenger were both described also as male blacks.   A witness, driving in the left lane behind the employee, was able to describe the silver car as a Chevrolet Camaro with Illinois (unknown identifiers) plates.   The employee was not injured.   The Kia had a bullet hole in the rear passenger door.   Anyone who may have any information or witnessed this incident please call Trooper Jerry George at 219-696-6242.
