In the Indiana primary election Tuesday night, here are some results from LaPorte County: for US Representative District 1, Pete Visclosky won easily over Larry Chubb and Tony Daggett Sr. with almost 73% of the vote. In the race for US Representative District 2, Mel Hall defeated the other 5 candidates vying for that spot with 44% of the vote. In the State Rep District 9 contest, Pat Boy with 46% of the vote outlasted Sean Fitzpatrick (32%) and Duane Parry (22%). For Prosecuting Attorney 32nd Circuit Court, John Espar and John Lake went down to the wire with Lake narrowly winning by less than one percent with just over 50% of the vote. In the Coolspring Township Board race, Monica Prosser emerged victorious over her 3 rival candidates with just over 31% of the vote. In the Michigan Township Assessor race, Scott Bell defeated Steven Pawlak with 65% of the vote. For Michigan Township Trustee, it was too close to call with Rodney Washington getting 26% of the vote narrowly beating Pat Kowalski (24%) Jeff Deuitch (23%) and Agnes Meer (21%). Susan H. Webster Melody E. Farmer and George J. Kazmierczak defeated their competitors for a spot in the Michigan Township Board. For Republican United States Senator District 1, Mike Braun defated Todd Rokita and Luke Messer with 48% of the vote. For Republican United States Senator District 1, Jackie Walorski beat Mark Summe with 74% of the vote.
