Tuesday, U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) joined Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and others in urging President Trump to suspend negotiations regarding a U.S.-Saudi civil nuclear agreement. The Senators cited the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, as well as Saudi actions in Yemen and Lebanon, as evidence for their concerns related to “the transparency, accountability, and judgment of current decisionmakers in Saudi Arabia.” Earlier this month, Senator Young similarly joined Senate colleagues in triggering an investigation and a Global Magnitsky sanctions determination regarding the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi.
