The Second Annual Construction & Skilled Trades Day, will occur on Tuesday November 27th, for the Second Annual Construction & Skilled Trades Day, hosted by the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board, the Construction Advancement Foundation and Indiana Plan.
Seventeen Trade Organizations will be set up (complete with equipment, technology, and mock work sites) Over 1300 students from Northwest Indiana High Schools/Programs will be in attendance. Hands-on demonstrations by several of the trades where students are also able to participate with demonstration The event is scheduled from 8:00am-2:00pm at the Lake County Fairgrounds—Industrial Building at 889 S. Court Street in Crown Point.
The event will Introduce students and others with the career opportunities in union building and construction. It will also acquaint those in attendance on how apprenticeships provide skills to compete in tomorrow’s workforce and how to successfully apply for an apprenticeship program and provide information on to successfully apply to an apprenticeship program.
