On Sunday evening, MCPD officers were dispatched to the 700 Block of E 10th Street regarding an Armed Robbery that had taken place. It was learned that an employee of Domino’s Pizza was making a delivery in that block when he was approached by multiple juveniles. One of the juveniles displayed a handgun and a demand was made for the delivery person’s currency. Currency was obtained by the suspects as was the would be delivered food.
The responding Officers canvased the area and were able to track the suspect’s footprints in the recent snow to 707 E 10th. The investigation continued at the residence where a handgun and other evidence of this crime were recovered. Five juvenile suspects from inside the residence were taken into custody. Four of the suspects, consisting of three males and one female, were charged with Armed Robbery. One of the males was 16 years old and the other two were 15. The female is currently 14 years old. The fifth suspect who was 16 was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement. Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to called Det./Cpl. Painter at 219-874-3221 Ext. 1077.
