The La Porte City Police Department conducted 79.5 hours of Seat Belt Enforcement patrols from April 1 through April 15. Focus was on the use of Seat Belts and Child Restraint violations.
During their patrols, officers wrote at total of 90 citations, 116 warnings and had four arrests.  The citations include 74 for Seatbelt violations, six Other Violations, 6 Driving While Suspended citations, and 4 Speeding violations. The four arrests include two for Habitual Traffic Violations and two for Misdemeanor Driving While Suspended.
Operation Pull Over is a traffic safety grant program funded by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
