The Michigan City chapter of the United States Bowling Congress Association has made a substantial impact on the fight against breast cancer over the past 17 years.
Since 2002, members have raised over $184,000 toward the disease, with $66,280 of those proceeds benefitting the Franciscan Health Michigan City Breast Care Center. The funds have allowed the hospital’s team of clinicians to provide compassionate, life-saving care and financial support to patients facing one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
The latest Bowl for the Cure fundraiser was held on Feb. 24 at City Lanes Bowling Center in Michigan City. The event generated a check in the amount of $6,100 that was presented to the Franciscan Health Foundation at a celebratory pizza party.
