New Prairie United School Corporation issued an attendance plan update. LaPorte and St. Joseph counties have both posted “Orange” on the state COVID Metric. As a result, NPUSC will use the 50% Attendance hybrid for the week of November 9th.  Late Starts will not occur on the 50% Attendance Hybrid.

Schedule information can be found on the New Prairie United School Corporation Facebook page.

NPUSC also made an announcement about Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs). NPUSC has made the decision that if at any time LaPorte County posts Red on a Wednesday in the state COVID metric, ECAs for the next week will be postponed while students participate in e-learning.  ECAs may be able to continue later in the e-learning week if the COVID metric improves on the next Wednesday.

The Indiana Department of Health updates the color coded metric by county every Wednesday at 12 pm Noon EST.  Generally, NPUSC will plan to finish the week on the same Attendance Plan that NPUSC started on that Monday.  However, if positive cases also exist in multiple NPUSC schools it is possible NPUSC would declare E-Learning to finish the week for that Thursday-Friday, then begin the appropriate Attendance Plan the following Monday based on the state metric.

NPUSC also says that Multiple positive COVID cases within NPUSC could cause a more restrictive attendance plan than noted if circumstances warrant a more cautious approach.
