On Sunday Night 1/24, at approximately 11:20 PM, Deputy Alex Clemons was traveling in the 6000 west block of Johnson Road. He observed a vehicle traveling southeast on Johnson Road approaching him. Deputy Clemons activated his radar to obtain the speed of the approaching vehicle. The radar reading indicated the vehicle was traveling in excess of the posted 45 miles per hour speed limit.
A traffic stop was initiated near the intersection of Johnson Road and CR 500 West. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Stacy M. SUTTON (36 YOA) of La Porte. As the traffic stop progressed, SUTTON consented to a search of the vehicle. The search yielded illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
SUTTON was taken into custody and transported to the La Porte County Jail (LCJ). She was arrested for Dealing in Methamphetamine (L4 Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A-Misdemeanor) and Driving While Suspended, Prior Violation (Class A-Misdemeanor). SUTTON remains housed in the LCJ and is being held without bond.
