In the afternoon hours of June 8th, 2021, members of the LaPorte County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA Initiative, The Fugitive Apprehension Street Team (FAST), The Michigan City Police Department, the Michigan City SWAT team, and the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department ERT, effected 2 arrests as the result of a search warrant that was executed at 314 South Street, Michigan City, IN. Taken into custody was, Daniel Will, who had outstanding warrants, along with Michigan City resident, Justin Henry.
Over the past several months The LaPorte County Drug Task Force began receiving numerous complaints regarding possible drug activity at 314 South St. As the community began voicing their concerns, lead Detectives Dana Ford and Dan Kesling opened an investigation into this residence. Within a short period of time, the suspect of these complaints, Justin Henry, was identified by detectives.
As a result of the executed search warrant at 314 South Street, detectives recovered suspected Methamphetamine, numerous controlled/scheduled substances, and paraphernalia associated with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.
On June 9th, 2021, The Honorable Judge Jaime Oss found that probable cause existed to charge Justin Henry with one count of Dealing in Methamphetamine as a Level 3-Felony, two counts of Dealing in Methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony, and one count of Dealing in a schedule I controlled substance as a Level 3 Felony.
Mr. Henry is being held on a $25,000 cash Bond. Mr. Henry will have his initial hearing on June 15th, 2021, in LaPorte County Superior Court #1.
Michigan City Police Chief Dion T. Campbell states, “I could not be more proud of the continued work product produced by the members of the La Porte County Drug Task Force. With cases like these, the community’s communication with law enforcement allows detectives to address specific issues and concerns within our neighborhoods.”
