The public is invited to blood drives scheduled on Tuesday, July 6, at Franciscan Health Fitness Centers Chesterton, Friday, July 9, at Franciscan Physician Network Chesterton Health and Emergency Center and Tuesday, July 13, at Franciscan Health Fitness Centers Schererville.
The Chesterton blood drives will be conducted by the American Red Cross from 2 to 8PM July 6 at Franciscan Health Fitness Centers, 810 Michael Drive, and from 9AM to 2PM on July 9 at Chesterton Health and Emergency Center, 770 Indian Boundary Road. The Schererville blood drive will be held from 3 to 7PM on July 13 in Versiti’s Mobile Blood Bus outside the entrance of Franciscan Health Fitness Centers at 221 U.S. Highway 41. Donors must bring identification. Those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine should wait 48 hours after their shot before donating. Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled by going online at versiti.org/IL or by calling 1-800-7TO-Give (1-800-786-4483) and choosing your preferred time.
Versiti Blood Center is the primary blood provider to Franciscan Health. Donations go to more than 70 hospitals in Indiana and Illinois.
