The Legacy Center Gallery is proud to host the artwork of local artist Kadie O’Connor in their next installation. Located on the campus of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, the Legacy Center serves as a multi-use gathering space for community and parish functions. The Gallery seeks to incorporate the parish with the greater arts community.
Kadie’s experience in the arts began in her previous residence of Naperville, where she created custom pen-and-ink drawings of local landmarks. After moving to Northwest Indiana, she attended a plein air painting event sponsored by the Michigan City Art League and added this form of artwork into her portfolio. Additionally, Kadie says, “In the last year, I decided to combine love for our Lake Michigan lakeshore with painting. I have named this exhibit “organic art” since it involves actual rocks, beach glass, driftwood and any other items I may have picked up while walking on the beach.”
The public is invited to view Kadie’s artwork during regular Legacy Center hours, 6 am to 8 pm CST. The building is located at 1719 E. Barker Ave. in Michigan City, and visitors should enter through the doors off Esther Street. A special “Meet the Artist” reception will be held on Sunday, April 18 at 11:30 am. Kadie will have additional prints and cards for sale at this time, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the parish.
The artwork will be displayed through June 30, 2021, at which time the Gallery will change with a new artist. Questions can be directed to jessicar@qas.org.
