On the South Shore Line, alcohol will be prohibited on SSL trains after 7pm on 7/29 & 7/30, and prohibited all day on 7/31 & 8/1.
A mask requirement in effect through Sept. 13.Per federal orders, the SSL continues to require masks in all SSL stations and onboard trains throughout Indiana and Illinois. This order is in effect regardless of vaccination status. Passengers who do not comply with the mask mandate will be subject to removal from trains. Certain passengers are exempt from the mask mandate, including passengers with medical/health issues and children under the age of 2.
The Metra Van Buren Street elevator is temporarily out of service. The recommended alternative accessible locations are Millennium Station and Museum Campus/11th St. Station.
In addition, temporary busing will occur on the South Shore Line Aug. 2 through Sept. 3. Passengers will be bused between Carroll Ave. Station and the South Bend International Airport beginning Aug. 2 and lasting through Sept. 3. Service to Hudson Lake will be suspended during busing. No bikes will be transported via bus. The following trains are canceled during busing: WB Tr 422, Tr 424 and EB Tr 401, Tr 701 & Tr 703.
