The next phase of the work at I-94 and US 20 has been postponed due to the weather. The left lane of I-94 will continue to be closed in both directions between State Road 149 and Beam St/C.R. 1275 N through Friday, August 13 for construction work at the bridge. In addition to the left lane closures, the two lanes remaining open will shift as motorists approach the work zone and then shift back after passing the work zone.
The traffic restrictions will then flip for the next phase of work the following week. The two left lanes of I-94 eastbound and westbound will be closed from approximately 7 p.m. Sunday, August 15 to 4 a.m. Monday, August 16 to set up the next maintenance of traffic. The right lane will then be closed from Monday morning through Friday, August 20.
From Monday, August 16 to Friday, August 20, the ramps from westbound I-94 to westbound U.S. 20 and eastbound I-94 to eastbound U.S. 20 will also be closed. For westbound, the detour will be to follow I-94 to State Road 249 and take State Road 249 to U.S. 20. For eastbound, the detour will be to follow I-94 to State Road 49 and take State Road 49 to U.S. 20.
