Conservation officers are investigating after a body was recovered near Whiting Lakefront Park.
Tuesday at about 2 p.m., a park visitor located what was believed to be a body in Lake Michigan approximately 200 yards from shore.
First responders located and recovered the body floating northeast of the park near the BP Water Purification Plant.
Police said Wednesday that the identity of the male victim is being withheld pending family notification.
