Ogden Dunes Police sent out an advisory Monday that there is currently a scam involving the scammers claiming to be the United States Postal Service.
“If you receive a text from someone claiming to be from the USPS stating they have a package that is undeliverable, this is a scam,” police said in the advisory.
Police also said that the post office will leave a notice in your mailbox and that the post office will not call or text you.
“Please do not click on any links or give out any personal information,” ODPD said in the advisory.
“Again, this is a scam. The USPS does not do business through text messages. The Post office will leave a notice in your mailbox if there is any mail that is undeliverable.”
