Yesterday (5/19) at 1:58 PM, deputies responded to the 8300 west block of CR 400 North, reference a two-vehicle crash.  The initial on-scene investigation completed by Deputy Xavier Biggerstaff and assisting deputies determined the following had occurred.

 

A black 2016 Audi, being driven by Cynthia L. SCHOOF (74 YOA) of La Porte, had been traveling east on CR 400 North.  The Audi traveled left of center and into the westbound lane of travel.  A blue 2021 Subaru, being driven by Susan A. HALL (68 YOA) of La Porte, had been traveling west on CR 400 North.  A collision between the Audi and Subaru occurred in the westbound lane of CR 400 North.

 

A passenger of the Audi, Jackie FRANKOWSKI (75 YOA) of La Porte, sustained an upper body injury.  A passenger of the Subaru, Carol LUKES (92 YOA) of La Porte, also sustained an upper body injury.  FRANKOWSKI and LUKES were both transported from the scene by ground to an area hospital.

 

Deputy Biggerstaff later learned that LUKES had passed away from injuries sustained during the crash at a regional hospital.

 

SCHOOF and HALL did not sustain any injuries during the crash.

 

No further information is available for release.
