Jack Arnett, CEO of the LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau said, “Last month Linda made it official – she announced her retirement effective at the end of the year.”

Linda is going out on top, having led the Bureau’s Marketing Department for the last 17 years. During that time, she
spearheaded the efforts behind the award-winning Great Lakes Grand Prix Marketing Campaign – having won the prestigious Best Event in the State of Indiana Award twice during her tenure.

Linda has been involved in numerous boards and commissions locally and at the state level. She currently is finishing her last term serving as a member on the Indiana State Tourism Association Board.

Linda has been a statewide leader in the industry according to Arnett, having also achieved her individual (CDME)
Certified Destination and Management Executive accreditation. Arnett added “Linda and I started here at the same time; we came on as a team and she has been a driving force in our success. I am going to miss her but at the same time I am happy for them Linda and Gene transition into new and exciting times, enjoying their retirement.

According to Arnett, Linda has been working closely with Amy Riehle, getting her ready for the transition. Amy will assume the role of Marketing Director and will be available in that role immediately so there will be no gap in service.
