Press release, Michigan City Chamber of Commerce:
Michigan City – The Lakefront Career Network (LCN) recently announced Family Advocates as their 2025 Spotlight Organization. Family Advocates is an independent organization advocacy and intervention agency working for the best interest of at-risk children and families.
Each year LCN, the young professionals committee of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, uses an application process to choose one nonprofit to build a unique partnership with for an entire year. In what is now its seventh partnership, LCN will work with Family Advocates to increase their visibility in Michigan City, help expand their volunteer reach, and raise awareness of the needs of children in our community. LCN will do this through supporting the advancement of its mission, new events, givebacks, and fundraising that young professionals and other community members can participate in.
Incoming LCN Chair, Marissa Hughart stated, “Lakefront Career Network is thrilled to spotlight Family Advocates in 2025 and excited about what this collaboration will bring for the community. Together, we look forward to accomplishing remarkable achievements and making a lasting impact.” The partnership will also include a planned day of giving and other fundraising efforts to boost their volunteer base and help out with their 2025 Wiffle Ball Tournament.
