La Porte County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal crash that left one woman dead early Tuesday.
At 2:51 a.m., deputies responded to County Road 300 East south of State Road 4 regarding a personal injury crash.
The initial on-scene investigation determined that a 2019 Ford, driven by 22-year-old Macayla R. Boone of La Porte, was traveling south on County Road 300 East. The vehicle traveled left of center, off the east side of the roadway, and crashed into two tree stumps. Boone was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Boone was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toxicology test results are pending.
