In Lake County, NIPSCO will close U.S. 6/State Road 51 between Central Avenue and Old Hobart Road beginning on or after Friday, Oct. 17.
The road will be closed for approximately three weeks for NIPSCO gas relocation work. Motorists should seek alternate routes.
The official detour will follow U.S. 20, State Road 149 and U.S. 6.
