One person was shot and two people were arrested after a shooting in La Porte, according to the La Porte Police Department.
On Wednesday at about 1:10 a.m., officers from the City of La Porte Police Department were dispatched to the Maple Tree Apartments, located at 1405 West 18th Street, in reference to a report of a man who had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was provided immediate medical aid by first responders and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jordan Jackson, who fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. La Porte Police SWAT was activated, and with assistance from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant a short time later at a secondary location, and Jackson was taken into custody without further incident.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that a second suspect was involved, and Larry Jackson was also taken into custody.
This incident was determined to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Jordan Jackson is currently being charged with attempted murder, with other possible charges pending.
Larry Jackson is currently being charged with aiding and abetting.
