On October 19th, 2025 at 1:11 AM, the LaPorte County E-911 Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call
regarding a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Johnson Road and County Road West 300 North in LaPorte.
Deputies from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and learned a juvenile involved in this
crash investigation was suspected of a double homicide that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Schofield
Court in Michigan City. This information was then quickly relayed to the Michigan City Police Department.
Officers from Uniform Patrol Shift 3 immediately responded to a residence in the 100 block of Schofield Court for a
welfare check and located two deceased adults inside. Detectives from the Investigative Division were summoned
to the scene and took over the investigation. Investigators are currently conducting a double homicide investigation
based on evidence collected at the scene.

The juvenile has been detained by investigators and criminal charges are pending. Identities of the juvenile and
both victims are currently being withheld. No further information will be released at this time due to the ongoing
investigation. Additional information about this incident will be released when it becomes available. This was an
isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
