In Lake County, there are overnight closures on I-94 at U.S. 6/State Road 51.
The inside lanes of I-94 are closed in each direction between Clay Street and the Indiana Toll Road during the overnight hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, Oct. 24. A crane will be constructed in the median work zone for pile driving activities, which will begin on or after Monday, Oct. 27.
Additional impacts to traffic are planned as bridge demolition and construction activities take place and will be communicated in advance. Construction on the southbound U.S. 6/State Road 51 bridge is expected to be ongoing through mid-December, 2025. Work on the northbound bridge will occur in 2026.
