Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Superior Construction will move to phase six of pavement patching work on I-65 between 93rd Ave and Central Ave this week.
Overnight lane closures will occur on I-65 southbound during the hours of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. for one night to switch traffic into the next configuration. While weather dependent and subject to change, this is currently scheduled for Wednesday, October 29.
Once complete, I-65 southbound will have three lanes shifted to the right with the work zone on the left, and there will no longer be a counterflow lane for southbound traffic. Northbound I-65 will also remain in its current configuration with three lanes of traffic shifted to the right.
The ramp from eastbound and westbound 61st Ave to I-65 southbound will reopen once this traffic switch has occurred. The ramp from Ridge Rd to I-65 southbound remains closed through late November.
During this final phase of construction, work will be occurring in the inside shoulders to close the openings in the median walls used for crossovers. This project is expected to wrap up by late November.
INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
