Michigan City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at
an apartment complex in the city.

Preliminary information indicates a victim was involved in an encounter with multiple individuals that
escalated into an attempted robbery. During the incident, a firearm was discharged, and the victim sustained a
single, non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

As a result of the investigation, one individual has been taken into custody on multiple felony-related charges.
Additional arrests and charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
Investigators also executed a search warrant at a related location, which resulted in the recovery of multiple
firearms, including the firearm believed to have been used during the incident.

This case remains an active and ongoing investigation, and further details are being withheld at this time to
preserve the integrity of the case and any future prosecutions.
