Valpo Parks announced on their Facebook page that another 25 acres were restored to native prairie this January, doubling the 25 acres completed last year.
“These rolling prairie areas support wildlife, pollinators, and long-term park sustainability,” Valpo Parks stated. “This project was completed with the US Department of Fish and Wildlife (USFW), with guidance from biologist Jared O’Brien and support from our horticulture team. Park staff will maintain and steward the prairie as it matures.”
Valpo Parks has posted a link to a reel that shows the difference these restorations make on their Facebook page.
