LA PORTE COUNTY — A man from Hamlet, Indiana was arrested following a domestic disturbance Tuesday night, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after 11:00 p.m., Deputy Matthew Buell was dispatched to a residence located in the 0800 east block of CR 860 South in reference to a domestic disturbance involving a weapon.  Prior to arrival, Deputy Buell and assisting deputies learned the accused, 29-year-old Tradvyon E. Hamblin of Hamlet, had left the residence in a black Chrysler passenger vehicle.

According to police, family members of Hamblin explained to deputies that he and his 24-year-old girlfriend were engaged in an argument inside the vehicle in the driveway of the residence.  Family members attempted to de-escalate the situation and while doing so, Hamblin exited the vehicle.  Hamblin physically assaulted a family member while in possession of a firearm.  Eventually, Hamblin and his girlfriend left in the vehicle.

The vehicle was located by Sergeant Gabe Struss in the 5200 south block of Wozniak Road where it had been involved in a crash.  Hamblin and his girlfriend were found at the crash scene.

Hamblin was taken into custody and after doing so became argumentative and refused to comply with deputies. Hamblin forcibly resisted being placed in a patrol vehicle to which he was escorted to the ground.  Following an additional set of restraints being placed on Hamblin, he was secured in a patrol vehicle.

A black-and-red Ruger LCP .380 pistol was located in a field where Hamblin was initially found.
