GUN AND DRUGS SEIZED FROM LA PORTE HOME

During the past several months, the La Porte County Drug Task Force has received multiple citizen complaints in reference to suspected drug activity that was occurring at 912 Ridge Street in La Porte, Indiana. The La Porte County Drug Task Force was able to infiltrate the drug trafficking organization that was being conducted out of the residence. A search warrant was obtained for 912 Ridge Street as a result of this investigation.

During the early morning hours of Tuesday March 19th, 2019; the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed the search warrant at 912 Ridge Street. Two (2) subjects were located within the residence and were detained. A search of the residence was conducted and located within the residence was a handgun that was reported to be stolen, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and United States Currency.

Lead investigator Detective Rob Allen, along with the assistance of La Porte County Deputy Prosecutor Julianne Havens, filed criminal charges on Thomas ANDERSON, 42, of La Porte on two counts of Dealing in Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug as a Level 4-Felony and one count of Dealing in Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug as a level 5-Felony. ANDERSON is currently being held at the La Porte County Jail with NO BOND. Anderson is scheduled to appear in La Porte County Circuit Court on Friday March 22nd, 2019 at 8:30 A.M. in front of the Honorable Judge Thomas Alevizos.

The La Porte County Drug Task Force was assisted in this investigation by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department ERT, La Porte County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Division, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The La Porte County Drug Task Force anticipates more arrests in the near future as a result of this investigation.
