On Saturday December 7th, at approximately 8:38 AM the Michigan City Fire Department and Coolspring Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Edgebrook Drive in Weatherstone Village.  Upon arrival, firefighters found flames coming from the South side of the structure.  Flames were visible coming from under the house extending up the side and into the soffit.  While enroute it was reported that everyone was out of the structure and a dog was missing.  Eng. 4 from Cleveland Ave fire Station was the first to arrive and started an initial interior attack and search for the Dog.  Coolspring Township Fire Department was also dispatched as this location borders response districts.  Eng. 343 from Coolspring was the first to arrive and quickly started an attack on the fire coming from underneath the structure.  The Fire was reported knocked down at 9:24 AM and was reported out at 9:58 AM.  The American Red Cross was called to assist the two residents with their future needs.   Responding also from the Michigan City Fire Department was Eng. 1, Tower 1, and Eng. 3, also responding from Coolspring was Eng. 347, Tanker 356 and Rescue 369.  Other agencies on scene to assist was the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan City Police Department, NIPSCO and LaPorte County EMS. 

All residents were able to evacuate the apartment and no injuries were reported.
