Valparaiso Police have charged three subjects after they led police on a chase from Valparaiso toward Chesterton on August 4th, in a stolen vehicle. Valparaiso Police were first made aware of several suspicious incidents on the north end of the city involving these subjects. They were observed stealing from multiple vehicles and involved in stealing a second vehicle from Appletree Ln. in Valparaiso. In all, approximately $45,000 in theft has been reported to police, as well as numerous reports of these subjects entering other vehicles prior to be located by police. Once observed, the subjects attempted to elude police, even attempting to strike a police vehicle with the vehicle they were operating, in an attempt to escape the area. The suspects then traveled north, leaving Valparaiso on Calumet Ave. and concluding near mile marker 27 on the Indiana Toll Road, with the crash of the suspect vehicle. The suspects then fled from the vehicle, north toward 1000 N and Nautica in Chesterton. The three suspects were soon taken into custody by police. The arrested individuals were identified as: 22 year old Kobe Watson, of Dolton, IL; 19 year old Chaz Murray, of Dolton, IL; and 19 year old Armari Lomax, of Dolton, IL. All three have been charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with Lomax also being charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. The investigation is on-going and could lead to further charges.
