The Michigan City Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kurt Gillins as its new President. With a wealth of experience in chamber leadership and a commitment to the success of businesses in the community, Gillins is poised to lead the Chamber into a new era of growth and prosperity.

Gillins brings over 15 years of chamber experience from his previous role at the Valpo Chamber. Kurt has collaborated with other chambers and businesses regionally, statewide, and nationally to exchange best practices. His leadership skills, understanding of economic trends and his dedication to fostering partnerships will undoubtedly help him to propel the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce toward continued success.

Kurt stated, “Stepping into the role of President of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce is
an honor and privilege. I look forward to working together with the chamber board, staff,
business members, and community leaders to continue the incredible momentum the Chamber
has been experiencing under the previous leadership of Katie Eaton.”

As President, Gillins will focus on advancing the Chamber’s mission to promote economic
vitality, advocate for local businesses, and bring in new ideas to enhance every aspect of the
Chamber. With his commitment to local businesses and collaborative approach, he plans to
strengthen existing initiatives while introducing innovative programs to meet the evolving needs
of the members of the Chamber.

Gillins officially assumes his duties as President on May 13, 2024, and looks forward to
engaging with Chamber members, local businesses, and community stakeholders to chart a
course for shared prosperity
