BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A body was recovered from Lake Michigan Wednesday at Silver Beach according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday at 4:19 p.m., St. Joseph Department of Public Safety along with Medic 1 and Berrien County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a body in Lake Michigan off of Silver Beach in the City of St. Joseph, Berrien County.
The body was retrieved from the water and rescue efforts were unsuccessful.
The body is that of a 69 year old male who resided in St. Joseph Twp.
The identification of the body is not being released until notification to family is made.
At this time there is no criminal / suspicious activity suspected.
The body will be transported to WMED for an autopsy.
