NIPSCO AND NISOURCE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION LAUNCH BRIDGING OUR
ENERGY GRANT
Now accepting new grant program applications from northern Indiana organizations
Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (NIPSCO), in partnership with its parent company’s NiSource Charitable Foundation, is proud to announce the launch of the Bridging Our Energy Grant, a bi-annual endowment supporting two qualifying northern Indiana non-profit organizations. This new $200,000 grant will be divided into two annual installments of $50,000 for each organization in 2024 and 2025, funding strategic initiatives focused on diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and economic inclusion programs.
“We chose to develop the Bridging Our Energy Grant as a reflection of our commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in our communities,” said Vince Parisi, NIPSCO President and Chief Operating Officer. “By investing in these vital initiatives, we’re empowering organizations to create lasting change and promoting greater economic
inclusion for all.”
Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3 as determined by the Internal Revenue Service with a DEI and/or economic inclusion program focus as well as a direct impact in NIPSCO’s service area. Grant funding is not intended for capital projects, and organizations will be asked to provide a preliminary outcomes report and sustainability plan at the end of the first year of the grant cycle.
“NIPSCO cares about the future of Indiana and its residents, and we are committed to supporting organizations that are working to bring about positive change and creating a brighter future for underserved or underrepresented people in our communities,” added Parisi.
The grant review committee will evaluate submissions based upon the following criteria:
project quality, strategic potential, community impact, public benefit and management.
Organizations who wish to be considered must apply online through NIPSCO’s Your Cause portal by Oct. 18, and finalists will be selected to present to the grant review committee in early November. Selected grant recipients will be notified in December.
Grant funds are contributions from NIPSCO and the NiSource Charitable Foundation.
Customer energy rates are not used for donations or grants.
Prospective applicants are invited to attend a Q&A webinar from 10-11 a.m. ET on Oct. 4.
