In La Porte County, State Road 8 is closed between County Road 875 West and County Road 600 West.
State Road 8 is closed through mid-October for a bridge deck overlay project over Bessler Ditch.
INDOT says motorists should seek alternate routes. The official detour will follow U.S. 421, U.S. 30 and State Road 39.
