News Release by Marquette Catholic High School:
Blazers Make $1,130 Donation to Franciscan Health Foundation’s Michigan City Breast Center
Marquette High School is grateful for the community-wide support it received during its donation drive for local breast cancer patients this past fall.
Proceeds from the school’s Dig Pink volleyball match versus South Central, coupled with the program’s fundraising efforts, netted $1,130 for the Franciscan Health Foundation’s Breast Center in Michigan City.
Marquette was elated to present Vice President of Clinical Support Services Jill Nygren, Manager of Outpatient Therapy Services Deborah Pitchford, and Franciscan Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator Amy Johnson with that check just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Sophomore Mei Lach and senior Leighton Kurtich were on hand to represent the volleyball program as Johnson, Nygren, and Pitchford lauded their efforts and outlined where the donation will have the greatest impact.
“We are so grateful for your dedication to our community. Your generosity will support many unexpected costs that arise for breast cancer patients at Franciscan Health Michigan City,” Nygren remarked.
Marquette extends its gratitude to all who made this year’s Dig Pink match and fundraising push a success. We also thank the many individuals at Franciscan Health Michigan City and beyond who work tirelessly to help those battling breast cancer.
