The Portage Department of Recreation Parks and Marina introduced the Park Department’s new Director of Maintenance, Barb Lusco.
“Barb may be new to the Park Department, but she has served as an employee of the City of Portage since 2013, the department said on its Facebook Page. “Barb is not only the Director of Maintenance for the Park Department, but also the Harbormaster for the Marina.”
From Barb:
“I’ve been with the City of Portage since January 2013. I am still Harbormaster at the Marina, along with my new position at Portage Parks. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, traveling (especially road trips), dining at local restaurants and staying in touch with friends.
Currently I have 3 rescue cats, London the sassy tortie, Mamacita and her daughter Spot. I am very much a people person. I love meeting new people and finding what we have in common; we are all connected in some way. I truly love being in Portage. When my husband and I moved here in 1982, it was quite the small town. It has been fun to see it grow. I also enjoy being active in the community and county, serving on the Port Authority Board and Indiana Dunes Tourism Board and Lake Michigan Yachting Association. We can all have a voice by being active in our communities, even in a small way.”
