Marquette to Celebrate Catholic Schools Week Jan. 25-31-Events, Activities Planned as Spotlight Shines on Value of Catholic Education
Catholic schools continue to stand out as leaders in education by offering a unique, values-centered approach that nurtures the whole student—academically, spiritually, and socially. That excellence will be toasted as Marquette joins its educational partners in celebrating Catholic Schools Week 2026 from Sunday, January 25th through Saturday, January 31st.
“Our focus as an institution is to educate the mind, shape the heart, and inspire a life of service,” said principal Katie Collignon. “Our students are not only prepared for college, but also to be compassionate leaders who make a positive difference in their community.”
Rooted in a rich tradition of faith and academic excellence, Catholic schools provide a rigorous curriculum that challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and strive for excellence. Consistently strong graduation rates, high college acceptance rates, and a commitment to lifelong learning reflect the strength of Marquette and its Catholic partners.
A defining feature of Catholic schools is their emphasis on faith formation and character development. Students are encouraged to live out Gospel values such as respect, integrity, responsibility, and service to others. Daily prayer, opportunities for worship, and service-learning experiences help students establish a strong moral compass and a sense of broader purpose.
Smaller class sizes, such as Marquette’s 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio, allow for more individualized attention, supportive student-teacher relationships, and a positive environment where every child is known, valued, and challenged to succeed.
In addition, Catholic schools foster a culture of service and leadership. Through outreach programs and community service endeavors, students learn the importance of giving back and assisting those in need—skills and values that extend far beyond the classroom.
As families seek an education that blends academic excellence with faith, values, and community, Marquette remains a trusted and proven choice.
In conjunction with the National Catholic Educational Association’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week 2026, Marquette has coordinated daily themes and activities beginning Sunday when each grade will decorate a hallway in the main building with a chosen theme. Pizza will be provided for those who attend.
Pajama Day will take place Monday when the students will take part in a Name That Tune competition. Parents and guardians are invited to have lunch with their students on Tuesday. Students are encouraged to dress like their favorite character that day. The much-anticipated talent show will be held on Wednesday afternoon when students dress in accordance with the theme of their respective hallway.
Most Reverend Bishop Robert J. McClory will grace our campus when he leads our community in an all-city Mass inside the Scholl Center. Marquette is proud to welcome six of its partner schools for the 10 a.m. service, including Nativity of Our Savior Catholic School, Notre Dame Catholic School, Queen of All Saints School, St. Patrick Catholic School, Saint Paul Catholic School, and Saint Stanislaus Kostka Catholic School.
The school week will conclude Friday when students don their class shirts while taking part in a modified field day that includes dodgeball matches. Marquette Catholic High School #wims
