Shooting in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive leaves one adult injured-the latest from the Michigan City Police Department
On January 28th at 11:27 AM, the LaPorte County Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a
person who was found injured in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive, which is located within the Normandy
Village apartment complex. Officers from Uniform Patrol Shift 1 responded to the scene and located a 19-
year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right arm. LaPorte County EMS
transported the victim to Franciscan Health hospital in Michigan City for medical treatment.
Detectives from the Investigative Division responded to the scene and assisted officers with the investigation.
Investigators collected multiple articles of evidence and interviewed witnesses. Detectives continue to
interview witnesses, identify the suspect(s), search for video surveillance in the area and collect additional
evidence.
A preliminary investigation revealed this shooting occurred inside an apartment within the 2300 block of
Normandy Drive. This was not a random shooting and there is no known threat to the community at this time.
Additional information pertaining to this incident will not be released at this time to safeguard the integrity of
the ongoing investigation.
