We would like to congratulate Amanda Fowler on her promotion to Executive Director of LA Porte County Meals on Wheels. Over the past 8 years Amanda has poured her passion into the program as its Assistant Director. In that role she has proven time and again that Meals on Wheels offers so much more than a meal. She has strengthened community connections, expanded partnerships and even launched a pet program to ensure clients can continue caring for their beloved animals at home. This has positioned her perfectly to step into her new role as Executive Director. Her leadership doesn’t stop there; she is currently serving as the President of The Meals on Wheels Indiana State Association, an organization she has been instrumental in helping form in the state of Indiana.
Amanda is also a devoted mother of three busy children, always demonstrating a deep commitment to her family and the community by volunteering in countless ways. Through supporting her children’s schools, teaching junior achievement, being a bell ringer for Salvation Army, making care packages for the less fortunate and leading a girl scout troop over the years Amanda’s dedication to service has always inspired. She is currently serving as Treasurer of Michigan City High School Booster Club and is an active member of Michigan City Young Professionals.
Amanda is a graduate of Purdue North Central (now Purdue University Northwest,) where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2009, along with associate s degrees in Organizational Leadership & Supervision as well as Human Resource Management. In addition she is a graduate of the 39th class of the Health Foundation Leadership Academy and Leadership in La Porte County.
Please join us in congratulating Amanda as she leads LaPorte County Meals on Wheels into its next chapter.
