2024 Don Quijote Benefit Dinner

Each $125 ticket purchase will provide a senior in need with 1 month of hot, nutritious lunches and a wellness check. Carlos and Elena, owners of Don Quijote will generously donate the venue and meal so that 100% of the funds raised will go directly to seniors in need. Questions? Enjoy wine tastings from a variety of local wineries. On Saturday, September 16, our Vino al Fresco will be hosted in downtown Chesterton, at Thomas Centennial Park. Your ticket includes entry, unlimited tastings, live music and commemorative glass. Wineries & Food TBD This is a standing wine tasting event that takes place in Thomas Centennial Park. Limited seating will be available in the park. Feel free to bring your own chairs or picnic blankets.

Hoosier Star Event

The season begins on September 14, 2024 with the 19th annual Hoosier Star vocal competition and fundraiser. This popular event features five youth and five adult finalists, who will perform a song with the orchestra and vie for the title of Hoosier Star 2024. Audience members can vote for their favorite performance of the evening, and along with a panel of celebrity judges, choose the winner of this prestigious honor. Pioneer Days is happing on Saturday September 28th and Sunday September 29th

Pioneer Cays will be happening Saturday and Sunday September 28th and September 29th from 10am-4pm. Pioneer Days event is approaching quickly!  Please come out and enjoy a day at Creek Ridge County Park and enjoy the great stations we’ll have set up.  Ham and Beans, kettle corn, apple butter and more food available for donation as well as many hands on activities for the kids.  Draft horse wagon rides and ceramic painting will be back this year as well.  We’ll also have Jimbo’s and Downtown Delights on site as vendors.  Come support our park programming and the La Porte County

Funds raised this year will benefit the Northern Indiana Franciscan Health Foundation’s Food Insecurity and Prenatal Assistance Programs. Your sponsorships will support our Fresh Start Markets (healthy food pantries), Mobile Markets (food distribution events) and Food Prescription Programs. 11,110 children and families received food insecurity aid last year. Our Prenatal Assistance Program provides medical care, formula, baby clothes and diapers to expecting families facing financial challenges. 464,288 diapers were distributed last year. The LCSO’s 52nd season opener celebrates Latin-American music and the vibrant and colorful Mexican holiday Day of the Dead, which honors family members who have died. Led by Music Director Dr. Carolyn Watson and featuring guest soloist, guitarist Guido Sanchez-Portuguez playing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, this concert will also feature works by Mexican composers Gabriela Ortiz, Carlos Chávez, José Pablo Moncayo, and Arturo Márquez.

VNA NWI Hospice Military Standown

Please join the VNA Hospice for a celebration of veterans in the Northwest Indiana community. Inspired by the stand downs of the Vietnam era which offered service members a break from combat to attend to personal needs, the event will provide veterans with the opportunity to obtain resources, benefits, and other helpful information from 50+ vendors in one, convenient location.
