August 18 and 19 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM guests can come to Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) for Northwest Indiana’s premiere art festival: Lubeznik Arts Festival (LAF). There will be over 100 national artist and community booths for the public to enjoy as well as a delicious array of food for all tastes and an art scavenger hunt for families. Now in its 37th year, LAF attracts thousands of shoppers and art enthusiasts to Michigan City’s North End. Held on the third weekend in August, this festival features contemporary art and food. It draws repeat visitors from Chicago, South Bend and Northwest Indiana, as well as Michigan’s nearby ‘Harbor Country’ communities. The festival, previously held off-site, is now held on LCA’s grounds to connect festival-goers to our gallery spaces, experience the stature of our exhibitions, and connect with programs more effectively. They have selected individual fine artists and fine crafters through a jury process. Additionally, LCA has invited regional galleries who represent the best in emerging contemporary art. Single day admission is $5. Free admission for LCA members, children ages 16 & under and active military personnel with ID. Free off-site parking and shuttle service is available and encouraged. All proceeds from LAF are invested back into the community through artistic and educational programs LCA provides year-round. Teams WIMS and WHFB will be broadcasting live from the event on August 18th from 11am-1pm.
