An inspirational message from a Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum speaker last fall is now the theme for PNW’s signature event celebrating Women’s History Month. Reshma Saujani encouraged aspiring professional women to be “brave, not perfect,” which is also the title of her bestselling book. At noon on March 27, five alumnae from a variety of backgrounds return to PNW’s Westville Campus to share how their bravery helped break through the glass ceiling. The event, called “Breaking the Glass Ceiling,” is free and open to the public. Lakeshore Public Media is recording the discussion for later television broadcast. Panelists include Colleen N. Hickman, president of Northwest Indiana World Trade Alliance; Marsha M. King, dean and associate professor at University of St. Francis, Crown Point Campus; Ashley Gerodimos, executive director of the PNW Alumni Community and Strategic Events; Afsheen Mozammel, senior process engineer at DENSO Manufacturing; and Andrea Pearman, president and CEO of Diversified Marketing Strategies, Inc. The event will be held in the Great Hall of the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex on the Westville Campus, 1401 South U.S. Highway 421.
