— Sacred Heart Church in LaPorte, Indiana is pleased to accept another generous donation from Horizon Bank to support the work of their parish food pantry during the pandemic. “The donation in the amount of $5,000.00 will help to keep serving the increasing needs of the greater LaPorte community. We are so thankful for Horizon’s continued support in this time of need,” stated Deacon Frank J. Zolvinski. “Investing in the well being of our communities continues to be a priority at Horizon during this pandemic. Sacred Heart Church is doing an amazing job providing struggling families with much needed food during these pressing times,” stated Steve Kring, Regional President for Northwest Indiana. The pantry has served 315 households and 3,115 individuals during the COVID- 19 pandemic. They are open every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., weather permitting. Donations of non-perishable food items may be placed in the boxes near the entrance to the Church on the weekends or in the entrance area of the Sacred Heart Office (Niesen St.) during office hours.
