On Monday Valparaiso Mayor Matt Murphy and the City Council honored Aidan Gutierrez of Valparaiso High School for winning the Indiana High School Athletic Association Golf Championship.
They also honored the VHS Boys Golf Team for placing 6th in the State tournament.
Aidan is only the second VHS golfer in the history of the school to be named state champion.
