LAKE COUNTY, Ind. – An Indiana Department of Transportation contractor will move to the final phase of concrete restoration work on I-94 eastbound between State Road 912/Cline Avenue and I-65 on or after Wednesday, Oct. 25.

There will be overnight lane closures on eastbound I-94 from around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 to move eastbound traffic to it’s normal configuration, with all lanes of traffic to the right and the work zone to the left. Westbound traffic will remain unchanged. Work will occur in the median during the final phase.

Temporary overnight ramp closures will also be in place along eastbound I-94 the evening of the traffic switch for striping. Ramps at Kennedy Avenue, State Road 912/Cline Avenue and Burr Street will be impacted.

The ramp from eastbound I-94 to Grant Street has reopened. The ramps from northbound and southbound Grant Street to eastbound I-94, from eastbound I-94 to State Road 53/Broadway, and from northbound and southbound State Road 53 to eastbound I-94 will reopen after traffic has been switched to the final phase.

All schedules are weather dependent and subject to change. Work is expected to wrap up in late November. INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
