NICTD says the South Shore Line Double Track Northwest Indiana Project is nearing completion.
They will announce the date for resumption of train service between Dune Park and Gary in coming weeks.
Test Trains are running as part of their final commissioning and testing.
NICTD is informing the public to be prepared for trains on any track, at any time, and in any direction at all grade crossings.
