On Tuesday La Porte Police Chief Drangmeister proudly swore in the newest member of the La Porte Police Department, Officer Stephen Bateman of Knox.
Officer Bateman has served as a Military Police Officer with the Army National Guard.
He will begin his next chapter of training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy on September 2nd.
