CROWN POINT, Ind. – Franciscan Health is partnering with the Lake County Health Department to provide a free, four-week outdoor walking program this fall.
Path to Wellness will take place Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 27 through Nov. 21. Registration begins on-site at 9:45 a.m. at the main entrance of the Lake County Health Department, 2900 W. 93rd Ave. in Crown Point.
In case of inclement weather, the walks will be canceled.
The events will begin with brief wellness-related informational talks followed by guided light stretching and a walk on the Erie Lackawanna Trail. Topics to be covered include mindfulness, personal safety with the Lake County K9 Association, fire safety, pre-diabetes/diabetes prevention and education, cardiovascular health, cancer prevention and early detection and more.
