Child Support is an important matter to many: to parents and to children. When parents are
having trouble or need assistance with their child support obligations, the Laporte County
Prosecuting Attorney stands in the gap. The Office acts on behalf of children, helping to ensure
that parents, whether they are unable or unwilling to pay child support, can meet their obligations
for child support.
In Federal Fiscal Year 2025, the Laporte County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office met or exceeded
Federal/State Benchmarks for Performance. The Office exceeded in 3 categories, while meeting
the standard in 1 other category. In FFY 2024, the Office was above average in 1 category, while
at baseline in 3 others.
Prosecuting Attorney Sean Fagan said: “Whenever elected officials start talking about how great
they are, folks should be skeptical. But if there are hard facts and data to back up claims, then
the public should pay attention. And in Laporte County, we have the numbers.”
Prosecuting Attorney Fagan continued: “Child Support is near and dear to me, and I have the
best team in the State. Barry McDonnell and Tracie Tillman lead an excellent team of people
dedicated to the mission. We run a lean department, saving taxpayers money, all while providing
excellent service and results.
